Are shower gel and body wash the same thing?

• Although the two terms are often used interchangeably, there is in fact a difference between shower gel and body wash. Shower gel, as the name suggests, is gel-like in consistency, working into a lather when applied to the body. A body wash tends to be creamier in texture, more like liquid soap, and is designed to better hydrate the skin than shower gel.

Is shower gel good for skin?

• Unless you have a sensitivity to some of the ingredients, shower gel is perfectly good for the skin. However, as your pores open when you're in the shower due to the heat, the chemicals from shower gels can seep into your skin. So you'll obviously want one with as many natural ingredients as possible.

Should you wash your face with shower gel?

• Washing your face with shower gel is fine, but for those with dry or particularly sensitive skin, specially formulated facewash with moisturiser or oil removing agents is advised.
